Health & Human Services Nonprofit

OnPoint Strategic Consulting
In Summary

Challenge

A regional nonprofit had become accustomed to describing its work in clinical and technical terms, making its broader impact difficult to communicate. Leadership needed a clearer, common story.

Solution

We helped leaders understand the organization's true impact and develop language that could be used consistently internally and externally. We supported the new positioning with updated storytelling assets and orchestrated four simultaneous press conferences in four Virginia media markets on the same day. The principle was to align leadership around the story first, then equip everyone to communicate it consistently.

Results

Leadership gained a unified way to describe the organization's mission and impact. The campaign generated strong media coverage and created a storytelling platform that could advance the nonprofit's work for years.

The Full Story

Some nonprofits describe their work in clinical or scientific terms because the work itself is complex. That can be accurate while still failing to communicate the larger impact. In this case, the organization needed to step back and understand what its work meant to the region. We helped leadership reframe the story and develop common language. That shift mattered internally as much as externally because everyone could now communicate from the same foundation. We then created updated storytelling assets and orchestrated four simultaneous press conferences across four Virginia media markets. The principle was that strong external communication begins with internal understanding and alignment. The organization received excellent coverage and gained a platform it could use for years. The work gave leaders a clearer story, stronger tools, and a more consistent way to communicate the organization's impact.
